This unit uses the engaging theme of Vikings to develop Year 3 students' creative dance composition skills, progressing from individual motif creation to sophisticated group choreography. Through a carefully scaffolded journey, students explore storytelling through movement whilst developing technical understanding of levels, pathways, canon, and formation. The Viking context provides rich creative stimulus whilst maintaining clear dance pedagogy focused on compositional skills.
