This unit develops Year 4 students' ability to create expressive, technically sound gymnastics sequences by mastering compositional elements like speed, direction, and storytelling. Building from individual skill development to collaborative partner work, students learn to use the STEP model for self-directed progression whilst developing cartwheel technique and weight-bearing skills. The unit culminates in students becoming both performers and judges, developing critical evaluation skills alongside physical competence.
