•Hang ropes from ceiling hooks or outdoor adventure frame at appropriate height
Alternative: Thick skipping ropes or climbing ropes if gymnastic ropes unavailable
Place benches parallel with 2-3 metre gap between them for rope swinging

Mark safe zones and team gathering areas
Alternative: Spot markers or bean bags
For stopping activity quickly if safety concerns arise
Alternative: Voice commands with raised hand signal
Time challenges and manage activity transitions
Alternative: Phone timer or classroom clock

Position near rope setup with clear view of all teams, move between observer groups during rotations
Watch for effective communication, emerging leadership, resilience during setbacks, and safety compliance
Step in if teams become negative or exclusionary, provide safety reminders, offer strategy hints if teams are completely stuck
Demonstrate safe rope technique if needed, show examples of good team communication, model positive encouragement language
Large indoor hall or outdoor area minimum 15m x 10m with overhead rope anchor points
Non-slip surface free from obstacles, mats available for landing areas if needed
Stop activity immediately with whistle signal, assess any injuries, provide first aid as needed, have emergency contact procedures readily available
