•Tag Rugby
•Mark out 2-3 tournament pitches with clear boundaries and try lines
Alternative: Marker discs, rope, or chalk lines for boundaries
Check ball pressure and have spares ready for each pitch
Alternative: Oval-shaped foam balls for safety, or size 3 rugby balls
Ensure all tags are securely attached and belts fit properly
Alternative: Fabric strips or scrunchies attached to elastic waistbands
Distribute clearly visible team colours before tournament begins
Alternative: Coloured pinnards or t-shirts for team identification
Prepare score sheets with team names and match order pre-filled
Alternative: Whiteboard or clipboard with tournament bracket drawn
Assign referee whistles to students taking referee roles
Alternative: Hand signals if whistles not available
A series of competitive games where teams play against each other to determine a winner
Playing fairly, respecting opponents, and behaving with honour in competition

Spatial awareness in tactical positioning, understanding angles and directions in attacking moves

Central location allowing oversight of all tournament pitches with ability to move between games for coaching and safety
Monitor rule application, tactical development, teamwork dynamics, and referee performance throughout tournament
Step in if rules are consistently misunderstood, if sportsmanship deteriorates, or if competitive pressure becomes counterproductive
Move between pitches providing tactical guidance, model positive coaching language, and celebrate good play from all teams
Multiple playing areas minimum 15m x 25m each, clear separation between pitches to prevent collisions
Dry, even surface free from hazards, adequate grip for rapid direction changes
Stop all games immediately if injury occurs, assess situation, provide appropriate first aid, modify activity if needed for student safety
