A modified version of netball with simplified rules and positions for young players
Understanding where pupils are coming from and where they're going
Developing sports commentary vocabulary, using technical terminology accurately, explaining tactical decisions and technique choices, communicating instructions clearly to teammates
Calculating shooting percentages and success rates, estimating angles for optimal ball trajectory, measuring distances for shooting practice, analysing data from scoring systems
Understanding forces and motion in ball trajectory, exploring gravity's effect on shooting technique, investigating angles and projectile motion, examining body mechanics and physics
Understanding spatial awareness and positioning, mapping movement patterns around the court, recognising directional concepts and orientation
Building resilience when learning new skills, developing teamwork and cooperation, managing emotions during competitive situations, showing respect for teammates and opponents
Position yourself at different angles during demonstrations for maximum visibility, move actively between stations during carousel, stand at court edge during game for optimal coaching angles
Watch for correct ball position above head, note knee bend and leg extension sequence, monitor body posture and balance throughout technique, assess decision-making between techniques
Step in when technique breaks down consistently, intervene if safety issues arise, provide immediate feedback when misconceptions develop, adjust activities if students are struggling
Use slow-motion demonstrations for complex techniques, show common mistakes as well as correct technique, involve students in demonstrations when appropriate, repeat demonstrations from different angles
