This unit develops Year 6 students as competitive athletes and emerging sports leaders, progressing from refining individual running, throwing and jumping techniques to organising and leading authentic athletic competitions. The focus shifts from personal performance excellence in isolated disciplines to collaborative team events and ultimately to the leadership skills needed for managing inclusive sports competitions. This unit prepares students for secondary school athletics whilst developing crucial life skills in fair competition, self-improvement and sports organisation.
