This unit develops Year 8 students' ability to solve complex problems collaboratively through progressively challenging outdoor and adventurous activities. By deliberately removing familiar communication tools and introducing time pressures, students develop resilience, trust, and strategic thinking whilst mastering essential navigation skills. The unit's strength lies in its scaffolded approach to building team dynamics before applying these skills to authentic orienteering challenges.
