This unit introduces Year 3 students to the three core athletic disciplines through progressive skill development and playful exploration. The focus is on building technical competence in running at varying speeds, developing jumping power and control, and introducing accurate throwing techniques, culminating in a team-based athletics competition. Through carefully sequenced lessons, students develop physical literacy whilst experiencing the excitement of personal challenge and collaborative achievement in an athletics context.

- • To demonstrate acceleration and deceleration techniques

How can we use the pull throw technique to accurately send a javelin to our target?

- • To demonstrate the pull throw technique for javelin throwing
- • To throw with accuracy and distance using proper form
