An athletic event consisting of three phases: hop, skip (step), and jump performed in sequence
Jumping from one foot and landing on the same foot
Moving from one foot to land on the opposite foot
The final phase where you jump from one foot to land on both feet
The moment when you push off from the ground to become airborne
The specific order of movements performed one after another
Understanding where pupils are coming from and where they're going
Technical vocabulary development, giving clear instructions and feedback, listening skills during peer coaching
Measuring distances, comparing measurements, calculating multiples to reach world record distance, understanding scale and proportion
Forces and motion in jumping, gravity and momentum, coordination and balance in human movement, energy transfer through body
Understanding distances and scale, map work with measurement, appreciation of global athletic achievements
Perseverance and resilience, supporting others' learning, celebrating achievement, setting personal goals
Move around perimeter to observe all students, position centrally during demonstrations
Monitor landing technique, foot sequence accuracy, arm coordination, and fatigue levels
Step in when technique becomes unsafe, when students show frustration, or when peer interactions become negative
Always demonstrate slowly first, then at normal speed. Show both left and right foot starts. Exaggerate key points for visibility.
