This unit introduces Year 3 students to netball through a strategic lens, emphasising how technical skills serve tactical purposes within team play. Rather than isolating passing, defending, and shooting as separate skills, students discover how these fundamentals interconnect to create successful team performance. The progressive structure builds from individual technique mastery to complex game situations, culminating in students taking on leadership and officiating roles that deepen their understanding of fair play and tactical awareness.

How can we use smart passing techniques and positioning to outwit defenders in netball?
Key Objectives:
- • To develop passing techniques including feinting and 'giving the eyes' to beat defenders
- • To understand and apply basic defensive positioning and interception skills

How can we work together as a team to create space and score goals through quick passing and smart movement?

- • To attack by being fluid in positioning and using width effectively
- • To pass accurately in front of teammates so they can run onto the ball
