This unit consolidates and refines Year 6 students' netball skills whilst developing tactical understanding and leadership capabilities. Building on prior netball experience, students progress from mastering individual techniques to applying sophisticated team strategies in competitive contexts. The unit uniquely combines skill consolidation with officiating and leadership development, preparing students for secondary school PE and community sport participation.

Lesson 1
Big Question:
How can we master possession in netball to create winning opportunities?
Key Objectives:
- • To consolidate passing and moving skills to maintain possession effectively
- • To apply tactical awareness when creating and exploiting space in netball
Lesson 2
Big Question:
How can we use our netball skills to play fairly and effectively whilst also understanding the rules as officials?
Key Objectives:
- • Consolidate understanding of netball rules and apply knowledge in mini games
- • Use prior learning of passing and moving to create attacking opportunities
Lesson 3
Big Question:
How can we work as a team to regain possession and defend effectively in netball?
Key Objectives:
- • To consolidate understanding that defending starts immediately when possession is lost
- • To apply effective marking techniques in various game situations
Lesson 4
Big Question:
How can we create and apply effective attacking and defending tactics to win possession and score points in netball?
Key Objectives:
- • To create, understand and apply attacking tactics in High Five Netball game situations
- • To develop and implement defending tactics to prevent opponents from scoring
Lesson 5
Big Question:
How can we master different passing techniques to create successful attacking opportunities in netball?
Key Objectives:
- • To consolidate and apply a variety of passing styles in game situations
- • To demonstrate when and why different passing styles are effective

How can we demonstrate mastery of netball skills and tactics whilst showing outstanding leadership and sportsmanship in competitive situations?

- • Apply refined passing, moving and shooting techniques in competitive High Five Netball games
