This unit transforms traditional basketball instruction by embedding skill development within an authentic Sport Education model where students experience the full ecosystem of competitive sport. Through sustained team membership and rotating leadership roles, students develop technical excellence in shooting, lay-ups, ball protection and deception whilst simultaneously building the personal and social skills that define successful teams. The tournament-based structure creates meaningful contexts for skill application whilst emphasising that true success extends beyond the scoreboard.
