This unit introduces Year 1 students to outdoor and adventurous activities through structured exploration and collaborative problem-solving. The focus is on building confidence in following instructions, recognising symbols, and working together in unfamiliar challenges. Through progressive activities, students develop foundation skills for outdoor learning whilst building trust, communication, and decision-making abilities essential for future adventurous activities.

How can we use rhythm and counting to create our own movement sequences?

- • To copy and perform increasingly complex hoop movements using musical beats
- • To design and demonstrate personal hoop sequences with counting patterns

- • To work cooperatively with a partner to complete physical challenges
- • To develop strength and coordination through ball manipulation using feet
