This unit introduces Year 2 students to fundamental athletic movements through progressive skill development that emphasises both physical competence and sporting character. The focus is on building confidence with basic athletic actions - reacting, jumping, and throwing - whilst developing body awareness and control in a supportive environment. Through carefully sequenced activities, students discover how their bodies can move powerfully and purposefully whilst learning to respect equipment, space, and each other.
