This unit develops Year 6 students as confident outdoor adventurers who can navigate environments, solve complex physical challenges collaboratively, and design experiences for others. The focus shifts from teacher-led challenges to student-created problems, fostering leadership, creativity and metacognitive skills. Through progressive outdoor activities, students build the resilience, communication and trust essential for successful teamwork whilst developing practical outdoor skills like map reading and knot tying.
