Game Application Handball Activities for Year 7

Competitive tournament matches with explicit focus on demonstrating sportsmanship, celebrating diverse contributions, and positive teammate behaviours under pressure

Small-sided game where one defender stands on spot protecting themselves while three attackers pass and throw soft ball trying to hit defender below waist. Develops passing, tactical positioning, backing up, and teamwork.

Whole-class possession challenge where students continuously move whilst cradling their ball in a defined area. If ball is dropped, complete a forfeit before returning. Area progressively reduces increasing pressure until one King/Queen of the Court remains.

Multi-round tournament where teams compete against each other while also taking turns officiating games, developing both playing skills and rules knowledge with leadership responsibilities

Dynamic three-team game where two teams combine to keep possession away from the third team, with rapid transitions when possession changes
