Skill Drill Leadership Activities for Year 7

Progressive blindfold activity where one partner guides another through space using only verbal communication, building from simple straight-line walking to complex obstacle navigation

Whole team blindfold challenge where groups of 6 must create specific shapes (square, triangle, pentagon) using a rope while all members are blindfolded, requiring pure verbal communication and spatial reasoning

Partners throw and catch while following specific 'clap' or 'catch' commands to develop coordination and reaction skills

Students work in groups to collaboratively plan a complete mini PE session including warm-up, skills and game components for delivery to peers

Partners work together to navigate one blindfolded student across an obstacle course using only non-verbal communication sounds and signals

Students rotate through activity stations where each takes turns leading their small group using the explain-demonstrate-support framework, developing practical leadership skills

Groups stand on benches and must organise themselves in a specific order without speaking or stepping off
